Because, definitely, you REALLY can do both things very well. For the past 2 hours I've been surfing through T.B. and MLDD, pretending to work on some serious scientific experiments but the truth is, I'm hypnotized by the way you can communicate and express yourself. MLDD is the best project I've ever seen, every single picture explodes and burns with life. What can I say, I may go on for hours. I live and work in Yokohama, maybe one day we can meet and talk about art, photography, or simply life.

Cheers,
mujuGiovannihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08993966628085114280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4014514753363757398.post-10479445769907850002011-04-09T13:48:37.925+09:002011-04-09T13:48:37.925+09:00hey joe,

This was one of my first writing experiences published, so I was a bit nervous posting it, but I am glad that people seem to like it.
I am also glad your boyfriend and his family is okay. I also have a friend in America whose family is in Japan, and that particular friend has been freaking out... I emailed her and gave her this advice which might be useful for u or someone else in the same situation:

"I think the best thing you can do is be supportive for them because it is so hard to hear news from relatives when you are stuck in a situation like this. The people who can hurt you most are the ones you love. That's why my roommate finally hit is breaking point when his family called him. He was so strong and cool before....

Another thing you can do which I think they will appreciate, is send them a care package of food... That will make you feel better that they have some food in case the supermarkets are out of food/if there is an emergency, and they will appreciate the security of it too."

Cheers.pat pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12734121567481490977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4014514753363757398.post-43146403599445350182011-03-25T22:14:32.829+09:002011-03-25T22:14:32.829+09:00Hello Khaki,

When I saw All about Lily Chou Chou in the movie theatre in Japan (without english subtitles), it was one of the major cinematic experiences of my life... and later when I finally saw it when it was playing in NYC, when I understood everything, it was even better. I can still visualize the kid with the earphones on and sweat on his brow while standing in the rice fields.

Actually I just wrote an email to someone about how I believe art is maybe even more important now as well... another coincidence.
Thanks, I will watch Vampire when it's bootlegged online. haha.
Cheers,
ppat pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12734121567481490977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4014514753363757398.post-84679509316605317442011-03-25T15:24:32.872+09:002011-03-25T15:24:32.872+09:00Hello there,

Thank you for this great story - I laughed loudly when you spoke about how you couldn't explain taking a photo of the nice light to the stranger; and I shed some tears when I read how your friend's mum cried on Skype.
I'm from Aus and my boyfriend's family lives in Tokyo. I'm so glad to have your insight on that week (in good English).
As I don't live in Japan I can't expect to know how people feel about those fleeing the country, but I sure was glad that his family stayed down in Yamanashi for that week.
